Meet Kio. Born on B.C's coast, she is our hummingbird who left to discover the world's cultural capitals like Paris, Milan, Kyoto, and came home with an eye for what most people walk past: a colour against stone, a pattern folded into fabric, the confidence of something made by hand. She carries these things with her. And she has come home now, to build her nest full of her discoveries at Oakridge Park. Every atrium, every artwork, she has already had a long look. To walk with Kio is to see Oakridge Park closely, and without hurry.

Kio's route runs through the world's cultural capitals, and she is rarely still for long. If she carried a passport, it would be heavily stamped. Watch for her in an installation, a printed detail, a window she's clearly had a hand in, she tends to appear right when you've stopped rushing.
