Our guide to Oakridge Park, Kio, has flown the world's cultural capitals, and carried what she found home to Oakridge Park.

Small Bird. Big Personality.

Meet Kio. She was born on this coast, a hummingbird small enough to vanish into a fresh bloom. Then she began to fly around the world. She has moved through Parisian streets, Milanese galleries, Kyoto rooftops as the light turns gold. She notices what most people walk past: the way a colour settles against stone, a pattern folded into fabric, the quiet confidence of something made by hand. She carries these things with her. Not as souvenirs, but as ways of seeing. And she has come home now, to build her nest full of her discoveries at Oakridge Park. She leads you through. She has passed through every atrium first. Every artwork already has her attention. To walk with Kio is to see Oakridge Park the way she does, closely, and without hurry.

Frequent Flyer

Kio's flight path runs through the world's cultural capitals, and she is rarely still for long. If she carried a passport, it would be heavily stamped, each stamp a place she chose to remember. Look closely and you will find her: in an installation, a printed detail, a window she has clearly had a hand in. She tends to appear right when you have stopped rushing. Watch for Kio in installations, windows and printed details. She usually appears when you’re paying close attention.

Kio's Art & Culture Walk

Kio's Art & Culture Walk is a guided route through the artwork that anchors Oakridge Park, featuring commissioned pieces, each one introduced in her own words. At each stop, Kio shares what she sees: who made the piece, what it is made of, and why it stands where it does.
